Annie Gray recalls the life of Georgina Landemare (pictured left) who was the full-time cook for Winston and Clementine Churchill (pictured right) in a new book (inset). Georgina was born in Hertfordshire in 1882 and begun her career as a lowly scullery maid. Working for Churchill, she went on to cook for 16 monarchs and countless famous people. She thanked the Prime Minister for saving her life one evening during the Blitz. He later noted her as having helped him through the war.
